HOW DOES IV VITAMIN THERAPY WORK AND THE BENEFITS?

IV Vitamin Therapy works by administration of vitamins and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. This provides increased cell absorption and 100% bio availability of vitamins via IV infusion. Booster shots are administered via intramuscular (IM) injection so there is no GI metabolism, which also allows for increased absorption. With oral supplements, you only get about 20% absorption after filtering through your digestive system, which clearly pales in comparison to IV vitamins.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

You can expect the drip to take 30-45 minutes. Please also allow 15 minutes to consult with our staff and get situated prior to your treatment.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A BOOSTER, IV PUSH, AND DRIP

IV is an abbreviation for “intra-venous”. To administer an IV Drip, a small plastic tube (catheter) is inserted into a vein using a needle that is quickly removed once the plastic tube is advanced into the vein. IV Drips consist of 500-1000 ml of fluid with a mixture of vitamins and antioxidants. The intravenous route is the fastest way to deliver fluids and vitamins throughout the body with 100 % absorption into the bloodstream. IV Drips usually take 30-45 min to infuse. An IV Push is infused directly into the bloodstream via a plastic catheter that is inserted into the vein. IV Pushes are in a 60-cc syringe, concentrated more on high dose vitamins with minimal fluid hydration and take about 10-15 min to administer. You still get 100% absorption via an IV Push. A Vitamin Booster Shot is a quick 10-second injection that delivers vitamins intramuscularly, directly into the gluteus or deltoid muscle. There is no IV access required with vitamin boosters. The dosages of vitamins also differ since the rate of absorption is different with an IV going directly into the bloodstream, and a booster going into the muscle, which allows a smaller volume of vitamins to be injected.

HOW SOON WILL I FEEL THE EFFECTS?

The effects of the IV vitamin drip can be felt instantly, while you are infusing and can last 1-2 weeks after. The lasting effects vary upon individual metabolic rates and any pre-existing conditions.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS OF IV VITAMIN THERAPY?

IV vitamin therapy has little to almost no side effects. Minor side effects include but are not limited to feeling warm, dizzy, faint or nauseas if administered too fast or on an empty stomach. Appropriate rate control is assessed on a case by case basis.

IS IT JUST A TREND?

IV vitamin therapy is not a trend. IV vitamin therapy promotes new advancement in overall health and wellness. Many people are accepting the benefits of IV vitamin therapy and are aware that an individual does not need to go to a hospital to receive an IV anymore. Most also see the upside of getting nutrients and vitamins through an IV and that one does not need to ingest daily vitamin supplements to stay healthy. As we continue to promote health and wellness via our IV therapy services, the awareness surrounding the wave of preventative health is growing

DOES IT HURT?

The needle insertion feels like a small prick, but the rest of the treatment is not a painful process.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS CAN I GET?

Every treatment is tailored to your needs. Some people only intermittently experience things like hangovers, jet lag, or migraines. Others get IV therapy more regularly since they get better results from taking vitamins intravenously. In the end, it depends on your biological individuality and lifestyle.

WHO ADMINISTERS THE TREATMENTS?

Treatments are administered by Board Certified Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Physicians
